The network traces its origins to Barry Diller's November 1995 acquisition of the Home Shopping Network and its broadcasting arm Silver King Communications, which owned television stations affiliated with HSN in several larger media markets. Univision Communications chief operating officer Randy Falco has overseen the network's operations since his appointment in the position by the company on June 29, 2011. Most of these stations rely on content from the network's main programming feed, offering limited to no exclusive local programming. UniMás is available on cable and satellite television throughout most of the United States, with local stations in over 40 markets with large Hispanic and Latino populations. Since its launch, the network has made major inroads in overall and demographic viewership, eventually ranking as the second highest-rated Spanish-language television network in key dayparts, behind only sister network Univision, by 2012. The network is operated out of Univision's South Florida headquarters in the Miami suburb of Doral, Florida. The network's programming, which is aimed at Hispanic Americans between the ages of 18 and 35, includes telenovelas and other serialized drama series, sports, sitcoms, reruns of imported series previously aired on parent network Univision, reality and variety series, and theatrically released feature films (primarily consisting of Spanish-dubbed versions of American movie releases). UniMás ( Spanish pronunciation: stylized as Uni MÁS, and originally known as TeleFutura from its launch on Januuntil January 7, 2013) is an American Spanish language broadcast television network that is owned by Univision Communications. Valdés will grab the headlines and rightly so after his two superb finishes from the edge of the box, both crafted, curling efforts into the far corner. The Estadio Azteca witnessed one of the all-time great Clásico Nacional performances from André Jardine's side, with goals from Brian Rodríguez, Diego Valdés and Alejandro Zendejas sentencing a poor Chivas side who never managed to make the home team tremble once. From start to finish, that performance was perfect from América, who beat Chivas to a pulp without getting their hands dirty once.

I think I can be certain, when I say that if you click "download", that High Sierra will download. Things happen sometimes when doing a major system upgrade, and you need to be sure that you have a way back, just in case your upgrade "goes south" on you. My suggestion, more than at any other time with OS X, is to be sure that you have a full backup before you upgrade. It's all part of the fun of High Sierra, and probably not a big issue for the normal user. The SSD file system will be converted to the new APFS, and will NOT be visible if, for some reason, you boot to a system older than Sierra. Then, back up the downloaded installer (still in your Applications folder) to an external drive, in case you need it again soon.įinally, when you are sure you have a working bootable installer, delete the installer app from your Applications folder (unless you don't mind having an app that you don't use take up more than 5GB space on your boot drive )īTW, upgrading to High Sierra on a retina WILL screw up your system, at least in one way. Once you have a bootable installer made, test it to make sure it will actually boot. I see that 8GB are getting to be less common, and the 16GB are cheap - less than $10. Just Quit the app, and continue on with creating a bootable installer.Ī 16GB USB flash drive is ideal - but 8GB size will work fine, too. The installer app will automatically launch when the download finishes. It's more than 5GB, so will take a few minutes. If the button says "Download", then click on that, and wait. Proceed to make a bootable installer! You are ready. Look in your Applications folder for the app "Install macOS High Sierra". If the top header button says "Install", then you already have High Sierra downloaded. So, the normal way to proceed (and I have done this a dozen times, just for High Sierra):įrom the Featured tab, go to the High Sierra page, either from Quick Links, or click on the macOS High Sierra icon to open the High Sierra page.Ĭlick the Download button. This is inaccurate, it still is a full upgrade, and not just an update to Sierra. Some may say that because there's not so much in visible changes from Sierra to HS, then you only have to update. Let me assure you - if you upgrade from Sierra to High Sierra (or upgrade from some older version of OS X to High Sierra), then you, at some point, will download exactly what you want - a full installer. I suspect that if I just tried to upgrade from Sierra to High Sierra, that I wouldn't be able to grab the actual full copy of High Sierra and make an installer out of it.Ĭan someone help me figure out how to do this?Īlso, I'd prefer downloading it and making an installer on my old MacBook Pro with Mountain Lion, that was if I screw anything up, I don't break my Retina! Instead, I want to download a full copy of High Sierra, so that I can then build an "installer" so I will have the ability to install High Sierra as much as I want.įWIW, I am trying to learn more about macOS and I want to install it, do some things, uninstall it, then reinstall it, and so on. I do not want to just upgrade my Retina from Sierra to High Sierra. Now I would like to get a copy of High Sierra, but maybe not in the way you think. I have an MacBook Pro with Mountain Lion and a new-ish Retina with was nice enough to help me figure out how to download a copy of Sierra in this thread. Staring at it now, the shroud cut by an inch and maybe the pommel/emitter cut by 1/2" would put it at a more descent size for my dream reaper. With my only want (May I add that something I want is not something everyone wants, just my two cents) being few inches cut off of this. Im still weary on if I truly love the flash on clash effect, currently I have a home made saber with the ultimate fx board in it, and for some reason I love the "flicker on clash" effect that it does. I knew when I ordered it that I was getting a monster saber that I could trim a inch or two by removing a claw or two. I love it quite honestly, and wouldn't trade it. If you read what you are ordering and can handle the fact that it is much larger(when I say much larger I mean US calls it a "Beast" at about 19" from claw to claw) then most other sabers then you are fine. Overall, my only quarrel with the Reaper is the size. Combined with Blazing Red LED the Adegan Siver brings a sort of reddish pink on impact which looks cool and if your going for a WOW effect for dueling it is there, strays away from how the movie lightsaber effects are, but I still like it more then nothing I think.(Still deciding) I am still getting use to the silver Flash on Clash effect, and am figuring out if the extra $35 is worth it to put in each saber with sound. The Blazing Red LED truly is a sight to see, and puts my Vader Force FX to shame. I didn't measure it and currently am away from a tape measure but I am going with a 36" Ultraedge blade coming standard with each order. Interesting enough, some thing I didnt realize when I ordered this is that the Ultraedge blade this thing comes with is not the 32" Ultraedge blade but larger. Love the customization you have with this soundboard, and with the saberforum community you can do a quick search to find some parameters other people chose to get you at a perfect balance for motion/impact sensitivity while maintaining accuracy. Took me a minute to figure out how to get the thing to connect to my computer, but with some swearing and the good old F1 button (Pulls up the manual while in the Obsidian app), I was able to figure it out and do everything in no time. Anyhow, for my first time using the obsidian soundboard i am very please. It sounds great in your head, until you think about it and your pretend that it didn't just happen. Ill tell you how it goes, you pull out your stunt saber and your swinging it around and you make the sound effects yourself (vroom, vroooo000m, swam). If you don't have sound on your saber because you are being cost effective like I was when I first got into this hobby. The pommel part has the claw removed for the fact that too me, this thing is huge! It does by no means seem like its outrageous, but I have large/normal male hands and I can wrap my hand around the reaper from bottom to top 4 times just barely (largest saber hilt I have currently, and probably ever will). You can see my emitter has the claw attached, absolutely love the claw being there and setting against the blade as it does, brings a true sith look imo. Love the emitter, showing the glow through the lines add so much to this. all of my future ones will be receiving them, and I think US should continue to offer this as an option where we can select it or not select it, but at the same time have a set placement like the Reaper has (I don't want to pick the wrong spot, and I trust US). I have never ordered the covertec wheel on any of my sabers, but after receiving this one I am sold. Removing the shroud and trying to connect it all back together also leave a tiny gap where the shroud use to be, from a foot or two away you wont even be able to notice, but just thought I would mention it (not meant to be shroudless anyhow). The shroud that sits underneath the emitter I think adds a lot of character to the Reaper, I tried removing it to see how I like it and I feel like it is just missing something. I think US outdid themselves on this one, I mean from everything to the line engraving in the hilt to the removable claws is just phenomenal. At the same time the engraving isnt that deep so it does not feel weird at all holding it. I would also not be afraid of it wearing down with too much use, it seems to be engraved in far enough that it will hold the design indefinitely. Highest I have ever seen, the detail is quite amazing. Ordered 1 -> Reaper w/ Obsidian Sound, Silver illuminated AV switch with the standard included covertec wheel, blazing red led with the silver flash on clash. This is also my first saber with Obsidian sound and I love it so far, and I have to give thanks to Lord Vane for the Vader font, absolutely love it with this saber. Just got my Reaper in today and I have to say I am very impressed. But it's beaten by Bitdefender Antivirus Plus, which has even more features. Having said that, during our own tests on Mac, the voiceover tool repeatedly crashed. And it's packed with numerous features, including markers, time remapping and a generous use of keyframing abilities. While testing the software, our review praised it as "a strong contender in the video editing field, Shotcut might not wow you with a dazzling interface, but everything you need to edit a simple video is right there for the taking."Īs it currently stands, Shotcut is a very robust and stable video editing package (it only crashed on us when trying the newest VoiceOver feature). Yes there are a few niggling glitches and design decisions, but that’s true for any software - paid or free. Many of the best free video editor apps can leave a lot to be desired, adding veracity to the old adage that “you get what you pay for”. One of the best free video editing software tools that's open-source and multiplatform is Shotcut. The only thing to bear in mind is that HitFilm needs a computer with a bit of oomph, and one of the more recent operating systems, be it Windows or Mac. Still, that doesn’t take away from the powerful features already present, which you can still use to create simple or impressive videos, all for free. The only downside we feel with the latest version (2022.1) is that there doesn’t seem to be many new features, or at least many new features that don’t try to entice you to upgrade to one of the subscription tiers. Existing users will find most of the tools they’re used to, albeit across a revamped interface (and a new name - gone is HitFilm Express, simply replaced with HitFilm). It was something we highlighted in our review, noting that "Lightworks is a great free video editor with numerous tools to satisfy most casual video editors, although if you want more advanced features, you’ll need to pay for the privilege."
